On Thursday 15th December, Jewson Builders Merchants held their annual Jewson Live Trade Show and National Construction Academy attended with a group of trainees and apprentices. The event held at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham had over 180 exhibitors from across the construction sector.
Attending as part of the Jewson Foundation+ account for Apprentice and Trainee Tradespeople, National Construction Academy Trainees visited the event to broaden their knowledge of tools and equipment relevant to their trade and to increase their understanding of how to best utilise the modern builders merchant in their own careers. Trainees visited a range of stands at the event and attended a presentation from Jewson regarding their Jewson Foundation+ account that was officially launched at the event.
The event featured a range of activities on the many exhibits including several competitions and activities such as 3 driving simulators, demonstrations and a live show featuring former Premier League football player, Dion Dublin and former Rugby England international, Neil Back.
Thomas Marples, Head of National Construction Academy said ‘The Jewson Live event is a fantastic opportunity for our trainees and apprentices to build their knowledge and experience in the construction industry. It is really valuable for them to have an opportunity to build their understanding and have a chance to experience such an exciting event. Jewson have put on a really great event and are doing a fantastic job in supporting young people into the industry.’
